Basic Needs Assistance for Immigrant Families
The Liaison has developed a trusting relationship with the Latino population as well as with area service providers. This trust, combined with the continuity and quality of our services, leads Latinos to seek our help with a variety of concerns. Our staff and volunteers provide one-on-one assistance, problem solving, advocacy, referrals, interpreting, and information to clients in our office, at home visits, or over the telephone.
Below are some of the main issues we address:
- Health Care
- Employment Issues
- Financial Issues
- Children’s Issues
- Housing Concerns .
- Emergency Assistance
- Consumer Issues
- Legal Issues
- Access to local government and non-profit services
We also host a food pantry in collaboration with the Inter-faith Food Shuttle and provide interpreting at the free yearly VITA tax clinics.
